Taking the real estate market by storm in 2009, Barbara closed 8 transactions and almost $4 million in sales her first year in business – not to mention during one of the most difficult market conditions in years! Barbara continues to excel by exceeding her clients’ expectations, and has been a consistent TOP PRODUCER in the Coldwell Banker West office. In May 2016, Barbara was recognized by NRT President & CEO, Bruce Zipf, as being a member of the Top 1,000, out of 47,000 NRT Sales Associates, for the first quarter of 2016. He stated, “Reaching the pinnacle of a profession as competitive as ours is no small accomplishment.” Zipf continued, “Based on your proven leadership and track record of success, I’m confident in your ability to help buyers and sellers realize their real estate goals in this, or any market.”
As a former Vice President of a major institutional investment management firm in New York City, Barbara has the financial background to understand the complex instruments and options common in real estate finance. Subsequently, she was a marketing director for a “managed futures” investment firm in Florham Park. Real estate is a natural progression for Barbara.
Originally from Philadelphia, Barbara has lived in Westfield and Scotch Plains for over 35 years, and has a thorough personal knowledge of the area’s schools, communities, transportation, medical, shopping and recreational facilities. She and husband, Rick, have raised two children through the Westfield School system. Son, Rick Jr. graduated from Annapolis and was a fighter pilot and former instructor at the “Top Gun” school in Fallon, Nevada. Daughter Morgan was a standout athlete at Westfield High school, holding all-time WHS lacrosse records and continuing her education as a scholarship athlete at the College of William and Mary. Morgan recently served as Championship Director for the US Women’s Amateur Championship, a USGA event and as Executive Commissioner of Sports for the Norfolk area in Virginia.
Barbara has been an active participant in the Westfield area community as a founding member of the Westfield Lacrosse Club and a youth and assistant varsity lacrosse coach. In addition, she was a Brownie leader, a Boy Scout merit badge counselor as well as a member of the Westfield PTA. She was Vice President of the Muhlenberg Hospital Auxiliary Board, chairing two significant multi-faceted charity events and is currently a member of the Westfield Historical Society.
